Social Responsibility

Our Employees’ Voices Matter

As a participating grower in the Fair Food Program since 2011, Santa Sweets is committed to promoting social responsibility and maintaining a positive work environment for its employees. Santa Sweets works in conjunction with the Coalition of Immokalee Workers (CIW) and The Fair Food Standards Council (FFSC) by promoting ongoing education and encouraging human rights for all workers. Our farm operations undergo routine audits conducted by FFSC to maintain compliance within the Fair Food Program in accordance with the established Code of Conduct as we strive for continuous improvement for our employees.

Wellness Care

Santa Sweets is working to improve access to health services, both treatment and preventative care, for employees and their children.

At Santa Sweets’ Immokalee, FL farm, the company partnered with Collier Health Services, a community-based health care provider, to provide health screening for employees and their families during four annual visits by CHS’s Ronald McDonald Care Mobile®.

This is a state-of-the-art pediatric medical and dental facility, provided through a partnership with Ronald McDonald House Charities®, that offers screenings for dental, growth and development, hearing, and vision, as well as nutritional and dental education.

At Cedarville, NJ farm, Santa Sweets is committed to participating and supporting the FY22 PathStone Farm and Food Workers Relief Program.

PathStone is a private, non-profit community development and human service organization.

Santa Sweets is committed to its employees’ personal and professional advancement.

To that end, Santa Sweets partnered with the Gloucester County (NJ) Special Services School District, Migrant Education Program to offer adult education classes to workers at its Cedarville (NJ) packing house. The classes represent the first opportunity for Spanish-speaking employees to take formal English classes that include writing, reading, and verbal exercises.

What’s more, employees who take the English classes are considered first for supervisory or management positions.
